Manifesting with the Power of Belief

The power of belief is the key that unlocks your ability to consciously create your reality. To be able to intentionally create your ideal reality, you must believe that you already have or are that which you want to attain or be in the present moment. And the secret to believing is to take what you want for granted. This means to believe, with gratitude, that it has already been given to you. It has been granted, it has been received and there is no doubt. Or else, in the words of Neville Goddard the power of belief is to "persist in the state of your wish fulfilled".

You Take for Granted What you Already Have

You only take for granted what you already have with certainty. The etymology of the word 'granted' can be traced back to the Latin word 'credentem' meaning 'to believe' or 'to trust'. Take, therefore, what you want for granted and it will be granted. Herein lies the secret to the power of belief. The words of Jesus Christ in Mark 11:24 could not be clearer on this: "What things soever you ask for when you pray, believe that you receive them, and you shall have them". The power of belief rests on faith. The kind of faith that "is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen".

Detachment and the Power of Belief

Although it's important to be clear about what it is you want to see manifest in your life when you visualize and imagine your intended outcome, it is also important to detach from that outcome because attachment tends to neutralize the power of belief. By constantly wondering where something is, or why it hasn't shown up yet, or panicking that it won't, will just keep it away from you because essentially you are focusing on what you do not have and reminding yourself that you do not have it.

You Only Desire What You Do Not Already Have

Think about it—you can only desire what you do not have. You do not desire what you already have. When you already have something, you do not sit around wondering where it is—you have it, and that's it. All manifesting techniques are aimed at experiencing the feeling that you already have what you desire at that moment. And when you feel something to be real often enough, you can maintain that belief of your desire fulfilled in your day-to-day moments. The power of believing always works in your favour.

Detachment in My Experience

While I acknowledge the importance of detachment, I must mention my own experience on the subject here. Detachment in the sense of not thinking of your desire and never doubting its manifestation is not as important as feeling and believing that you already have your desire even if just during your visualization sessions and then forgetting about it. Many people unnecessarily get wrapped up in the frustration of being unable to detach, when in practice their frustration is possibly more disadvantageous to attaining their desire than their attachment.

I have had the experience a few times in which a desire has wholly manifested despite some lingering attachment to varying degrees. Even so, endeavour to detach through the power of believing but if you struggle to do so don't worry about it. It's far better to imagine your ideal outcome even if attached than not to imagine at all just because you can't detach.

Belief makes Detachment Effortless

Harnessing the power of belief comes easily when you understand the conscious creation process and know that your mind is one and the same with Universal Mind in Its entirety. When you know that whatever you imagine with concentrated thought and feeling is instantaneously created in the Spiritual Plane from which all things manifest, then the magic of belief follows suit and it is only a matter of time before it manifests in the Physical Plane. Believe that you have already received what you want and you will find that detachment becomes effortless.

What a Difference Indifference Makes

When you believe you have something, your belief is underpinned by a state of indifference. This does not mean that you do not care but rather that you are care-free because you know that you already have what you want. You know it's only a matter of time before you experience it in the Physical Plane as all things in the 3D plane require an incubation period to be 'birthed'.

In the meantime, you don't wait for its manifestation in the sense of wondering where it is. Through the power of belief, you can sense its presence all around you albeit still invisible to your physical eyes. You will know that you truly believe that you already have what you have imagined when you no longer feel a sense of desperation, attachment or even desire.

Everything is an Illusion

If you find yourself struggling to muster true belief that you already have what you want because your current reality seems far removed from it, gently remind yourself that everything is an illusion. Your physical reality is an illusion—a projection of your consciousness in the same way that a dream is, yet you feel it to be real while in the dream. Albert Einstein said it best: "Reality is an illusion, albeit a very persistent one". Yes, your reality is real to the physical you that is having the experience but not to your True Self that is above the experience. To your True Self, your current reality is no more real than the reality you desire to experience.

The Power of Belief Rests on Gratitude

Taking something for granted is usually associated with not being grateful for what you have. And indeed, most people want and focus on what they do not have while failing to appreciate what they do have. And in so doing, they land up attracting more of what they do not want.

The best approach is to be grateful for everything you have been granted, including what you have imagined as being real, knowing that it is already yours by Universal Law and your oneness with Universal Mind. Even though something you have imagined has not yet manifested in the Physical Plane, feel grateful that you already have it. Gratitude is a state of being that together with the power of belief, turbo-charges your thought power. What you appreciate, appreciates—it grows.

Avoid the Extremes, Be Graceful

Be careful that the power of belief does not send you on a power trip. Pride in the extreme is often accompanied by the greatest of falls. Adhere to the advice to avoid the extremes in all things, including your emotions. Live by the Delphic maxim "nothing in excess". Do not become conceited or arrogantly self-assured that nothing and no one can stand in your way of attaining what you desire because you may quickly find all your efforts in that direction unravelling around you. Not as some kind of punishment but because of the Universal Laws of Polarity and Rhythm.

For the same reason, avoid becoming overly excited at the slightest of signs that your intention is manifesting in your physical reality. After all, would you truly be excited about something that you already have? The easiest way to avoid extreme emotions while taking what you want for granted is to once again be grateful. And gratitude is not about jumping up and down with excitement. It comes from the word 'grace'. Adopt the silent inner strength that comes with the graceful attitude of a person who knows they are the supreme I AM within and are grateful for it.


In a nutshell, the power of belief is key to consciously creating your reality. Believe that you already are or have what you desire to be or experience as if in the present moment. The secret to belief is to take what you want for granted to the point of indifference, not because you do not care if it materialises or not but because you know that it already has and it feels natural to you. And when you adopt an attitude of gratitude for all those things that have already been given to you including all that you have intentionally imagined for yourself, you will have learnt the secret of turbo-charging the manifestation of your mental imaginings in your physical experience by assuming the sate of your wish fulfilled.
